Wire Pass

Wire Pass Narrows

Wire Pass serves as a short cut into the much longer Buckskin Gulch slot canyon. Day use fees are collected for entrance into the area, and overnight camping is limited by a quota (see link below). Although we had very little time to explore, all of us had a great time and can't wait to visit again.

Black clouds hang low over the slickrock.

The downstream exit of the first narrows .

Curving walls make good hiding places.

In some places, the bottom of the walls are rounded.

Much of the slot has a sandy bottom.

There are some rocky areas of the floor. Here the canyon appears to end, an illusion caused by the winding stream bed.

In some places the slot is wider at the bottom than it is at the top.

Banded Sandstone.
